My name is Dr. Daniel Woodruff. I am a New York State Licensed Psychologist and Certified School Psychologist who specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents and their families as well as conducting psychological, educational and personality assessments. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral, solution focused, person centered and family systems therapy. Therapeutic treatment of younger children often includes play therapy, which involves allowing the child to express ideas and emotions through play activities. When conducting assessments, I gather information from a variety sources to get a well rounded view of the child. Sources may include; psychological assessment, behavior rating scales, direct observation during testing, student interviews, parent interviews and consultation with other agencies that may have contact with the child, including the child’s physician and school teachers and staff. At the completion of the assessment I will provide a report that describes the presenting difficulties and provides recommendations for treatment.
